About Me
Hi, I'm Stephanie Kwok

For the last 15+ years, I've worked across tech, gaming, sports, and management consulting. I currently support founders and leaders as a marketing advisor and executive coach.

Most recently, I was an Executive in Residence at Reforge, where I taught growth and marketing to hundreds of professionals at top tech companies. In my role as an EIR, I taught topics like product marketing, growth marketing, brand marketing, and monetization. I led weekly live events and case studies with experts from companies like Airtable, Eventbrite, Faire, Nerdwallet, Patreon and more. I also co-created the Marketing Leadership program with Kiran Akkineni (SVP Digital, Callaway Golf), which helps marketing leaders set up the teams, processes, and relationships they need to run a high-performing marketing org. Never did I imagine I'd be a course creator and teacher!

Prior to Reforge, I spent 6 years at FanDuel (the #1 gaming company in the U.S.), where I held leadership roles in Marketing, helped start the growth function, and built a new internal strategy team. I started as an individual contributor on the marketing team in August 2015, just 2 months before the industry was rocked by allegations of insider trading and legal investigations. I stepped up to help lead the marketing team through this tumultuous time, ultimately overseeing all of customer marketing, including retention & CRM, product marketing, key accounts and customer service. When sportsbetting was legalized in 2018, I helped craft the GTM strategy and launch, growing the product from $0 to nearly $2B in revenue 3 years later. In the midst of the pandemic in 2020, I worked with the Executive Team to create an internal strategy team to drive new growth opportunities and operational excellence. In that role, I led company-wide initiatives including the annual planning process, major tech migrations, new office launches, and transformations of operational teams, including customer service and fraud. One of our projects led to the creation of a Robotic Process Automation team - still the coolest sounding department I've overseen! I am especially proud of my work to support FanDuel employees, including establishing Employee Resource Groups (and subsequently serving as the executive sponsor for two of the first ERGs) and creating the strategy and governance structure for FanDuel's early DEI initiatives. By the time I left FanDuel, the company had grown to 1500+ employees, 20x in revenue, and the U.S. market leader.

My first foray into marketing came at Madison Square Garden, where I ran marketing campaigns for the Knicks, Rangers, and Liberty. As a born-and-bred New Yorker, this was a. dream. job. I learned the ins-and-outs of event marketing, brand strategy, ticket marketing, partnerships & sales, research and analytics - and got my first exposure to email marketing (which I'd eventually oversee at FanDuel). I was part of the iconic RangersTown and NY Made brand campaigns and had a front row seat (ok, standing spot) to the Rangers' Stanley Cup run in 2014.

I started my career in management consulting at The Parthenon Group, where I worked across corporate strategy, private equity due diligence, and our education practice. This is where I learned the nuts and bolts of market sizing, financial modeling, and competitive analysis. I blame these years for my excessive use of Excel and Powerpoint in my daily life. I got great exposure to lots of industries and functions, but the projects I'm proudest of were those supporting our foundation and education clients, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the NYC Department of Education, and Chicago Public Schools.

I hold an MBA from Harvard Business School, which is where I had probably the most badass title I'll ever have. As Sports Czar, I ran intramurals for 1800 MBA students, overseeing our sports commissioners and all event logistics. I earned my BA in Political Science from Stanford University, where I was co-captain of the Varsity Squash team and a member of the national champion Stanford Women's Rugby team.

Outside of work, I'm a flag football nut and am passionate about social justice. I started a flag football tournament company with a few friends that we ultimately shut down during the pandemic. I care deeply about social justice and access, and spend much of my free time volunteering for local political campaigns and tackling food insecurity. One of my proudest accomplishments is starting the Hell's Kitchen Community Fridge, which provides free food to neighbors, from neighbors. It's like a little library, but for food! I live in New York City with my partner and love planning trips to new countries, dinner outings with friends, and watching my adorable nieces and nephews grow up (way too quickly).
